The different types of swimming pool heaters

There are many pool accessories and pool supplies on New Hampshire; one of the more popular is a pool heater so that the water is kept at a constant temperature. A heated pool will allow the homeowner to extend the pool season considerably, in some climates it will be possible to swim year round when the pool is heated.

There are three different types of pool heaters; gas, electric and solar, they all have their own advantages as well as disadvantages.

Gas heaters require a gas supply, either a propane tank must be available or natural gas from the utility company must be available for hookup. If a gas pool heater is run constantly they can be quite expensive but they are ideal when they are used infrequently. They ate nice to have if you have invited friends over for a pool party or perhaps your pool is at your vacation home. Gas heaters are ideal for use with a spa as they can keep the temperature of the water at a very precise limit.

Heat pumps are one of those pool supplies on New Hampshire that require an electric power source. A pump pulls air into it; the air is compressed and introduced into the pool water from below. Heat pumps have an advantage over gas as they are far less expensive to operate. The other side of the coin is; gas heaters are cheaper to buy than electric heat pumps. Only the pool owner knows how the pool is used but if the pool is used often, an electric heat pump will probably work out cheaper in the long run.

Solar water heaters use the sun to heat the water in the pool. The system works in cooperation with the existing pool pump, the water is simply redirected to the heater which will be located on the roof of the house or even the pool house or cabana. It’s obvious that solar heaters cannot function on overcast days or at night, the two times when you want to the edge taken of the temperature. Solar heaters are limited as to how much they can raise the pool water temperature so they are not very practical on chilly or cloudy days at all. Visit us website for more details.
