A certified fire door Inspector, at a minimum, as required to verify the following items in accordance with NFPA 80.5.2.4:
• The frame, the war, hinges, hardware, and noncombustible threshold are secured and aligned with no indications of damage, and appear to be functioning properly
• The surfaces of the door or the frame show no breaks or holes
• Vision light frames, glazing beads, and glazing are intact, secure, and fastened in place
• No missing or broken parts are present
• Door clearances prescribed in the current section 4.8.4 (3/4” maximum clearance under the bottom of the door) and 6.3.1 (1/8” maximum at the edges and top) are not exceeded at the door frame or the edge of the door, on the pull side of the door
• Gasketing and edge seals are inspected to verify their integrity
• When operated from the full open position, the active door completely closes
• Field modifications which would void the label have been performed on the door assembly
• No installations of auxiliary hardware items that inhibit the operation or interfere with the door or frame have occurred.
• The latching hardware operates correctly and secures the door when the door is in the closed position
• The inactive leaf shuts prior to the active leaf shedding if a coordinator is present
Based on NFPA 80, a certified fire door Inspector Maas inspect fire door assemblies and testing of the door must occur once a year which includes a signed written record of the inspection.
