A Diamond Necklace Or A Pendant?

When buying a gift for a woman, the choice may often be between a diamond necklace and a diamond pendant. Both are elegant gifts that have been popular among women for centuries. They are capable of capturing a certain moment in time or being timeless. Each type of accessory has its appeal.

Diamond Necklaces

Diamond necklaces have long been considered a mark of elegance and taste. Once a symbol of class privilege, they are now available to individuals from all economic status. Settings and designs make them desirable, but diamonds are the focal point. They may appear in solitary fashion – a solitaire diamond mounted alone. They can also be creations in which multiple diamonds glimmer and shine in a halo or spiral design.

Truly, diamond necklaces can be simple or elaborate pieces of jewelry. They may be full diamond necklaces where the gems flow along the entire length. They may also draw the focus of the viewer and wearer to a single, intentionally placed stone. All such factors combine with its metal, design, and setting to produce spectacular results.

Diamond Pendants

Some may argue a diamond pendant is a type of diamond necklace. They have a valid point. However, diamond pendants provide a different focus. They necessitate the necklace be a rope or chain hanging down and ending with an object. This may be a teardrop diamond. The most common, however, are the princess and round brilliant cut diamonds. Round cut diamonds are most admirably suitable for pendants if positioned as a solitaire.

Diamond Necklace or Pendant?

Diamond necklaces and pendants have their adherents. Yet, while some may admire one over the other, many women keep more than one of each in their jewelry cases. Choosing one piece over the other is not so much a matter of taste, but a question of suitability. For certain events, only a diamond necklace may do; for others, a woman will more wisely choose a pendant.
