A Natural Looking Breast Implant Can Include Different Types

When most people consider breast implants, they want an implant that is natural looking. While you may wish to enhance the size slightly or make them appear more rounded, implants should still look like your normal breasts. While there are many options available, you will find that a few make you look more normal while others may not, so it is important to understand the various types of implants and how they’ll work with your body.

Saline

Most women have likely heard of saline implants because they were the first option available commercially. Though the shell is silicone-based, the interior is filled with salt water. This water is sterile and called saline. Because saline is produced by the body, it is considered the accepted solution. The implants can be pre-filled before insertion or can be filled after the shell is inserted. They are considered safe by the FDA, and if leakage occurs, it shouldn’t be a problem because the saline is already found in the body. However, they aren’t as shapely as other options, and may not look or feel as natural.

Silicone

Another well-known option is the silicone version. Silicone is usually shapelier than saline implants, so it can be shaped in various ways to achieve the right look of the breasts. They look and feel more normal, something that most women prefer when choosing implants or deciding to get them. They can also remain perkier and stand up better throughout the years though there could be complications if the shell breaks. Silicone is a liquid-like gel that can cause severe problems if it enters the body. Therefore, they would have to be removed if they were ruptured, whereas saline implants wouldn’t.

Cohesive Gel (AKA Gummy Bear)

Gummy bear implants are the latest version and is considered one of the best options. They have the benefits of both saline and silicone, without all the fuss. They look normal, they feel like real breasts, and they won’t hurt the body if they leak.

Which Is Better?

While most women prefer gummy bear breast implants over the other two options, it depends on your body, your reasons for wanting implants and your budget. Gummy bear implants can be more expensive than silicone and saline immediately. However, you’ll probably get more use out of them than the other options.

A natural looking breast implant can be from one of three varieties though the Gummy Bear version is usually best. Visit Michael A. Fiorillo MD’s website today to learn more about their procedures or their company.
