Picture this: you are hosting an outdoor party with a large group of people, many of them children. But you can’t keep your eye on everyone at the same time, so what are you to do? The solution is quite simple; temporary fencing is an excellent way to sort out this problem and save your peace of mind.

If you are looking to rent fences in Chicago, following is a brief overview of products for your convenience.

1. Silt Fences – This model is created with a thick cloth and stakes that catch run off from freshly disturbed soil so that it doesn’t contaminate water sources in the area. Its main goal is to protect water quality in the general area. The cloth is stretched between wooden or metal stakes, usually on a downhill slope. Installation can be a bit tricky, but it can be very effective when done right.

2. Crowd Control Barricades – Your basic, steel fences that will interlock and stretch as far as you need. These are the fences that you’ll typically use when you want to separate a large group of people from an event; you can use them at sporting events, concerts, demonstrations, and events of that kind. If you make sure to interlock them, these pieces are definitely not going to fall over easily.

3. Panel Fences – Created with chain links, this is the easiest model to assemble and disassemble without having to create any holes in the ground. Wires create a zig-zag, diamond pattern that is pretty iconic. This is the kind of fence you’d use if you wanted to line a public park or a private residence. It can be more permanent if you want, but usually isn’t going to stand up to the test of time.

4. Post Driven Fences – Similar to the panel fences, but these are a bit more permanent, since you have to create holes to install them. It can be difficult to install these, because it’s not easy to drive the posts into the ground. This is what you’d want to install if you had a long project, things like a construction site or the building of your house.
