Pets cannot speak and they exhibit signs of pain differently than we do. As such, it can be difficult to tell when a pet is injured, especially when we did not see the injury occur. Here are some of the more common signs that your pet is in pain and needs to be treated at Animal Clinic in Oahu, such as The Honolulu Pet Clinic.
Your Pet is Just Laying Around
One of the signs that your pet may be in pain is that your pet is just lying around. A pet in pain does not want to move. Unfortunately, this in and of itself may not indicate that a pet is in pain versus a pet is tired or not feeling well. But, if you saw your pet injure themselves or suspect something isn’t right, this may be the sign you need to indicate something is wrong and they need to see a vet.
Your Pet is Not Eating
If a pet is in pain, odds are, the pet is not going to want to eat. As such, if you notice your pet is not eating much at all in combination with one of these other signs, they need to be seen. Additionally, your pet needs to be taken to an Animal Clinic Oahu right away if they are not drinking.
Your Pet is Exhibiting Obvious Signs of Pain
If your pet is exhibiting obvious signs of pain, such as limping or yelping when they get up, they need to be seen right away. Pets exhibit signs of pain differently than humans do. If they are exhibiting obvious signs of pain, such as yelping and limping, they are in a great deal of pain or the pain has been going on for awhile. Unfortunately, many pet owners take a wait and see approach, especially if this is the first indication something is wrong. You would not want to sit around the house in excruciating pain, and neither does your pet. So when you notice your pet exhibiting these signs, either call the vet for further advice or bring them in right away.
