Going off to college is enough of a stressful event; there doesn’t really need to be any more of it piled on to you. This is why making a smart decision about where you will live before you even get to campus should be made as quickly as possible. Most alumni state are very happy that they chose to live in apartments near WWU.
It’s Cheaper
While you may think that you are scoring a great deal by not having to pay for utilities or food while you live in a dorm room, the fact of the matter is that these amenities are wrapped up into your room and board charges, and you are also paying a premium for such a “convenience.” It is actually cheaper to rent your own apartment and pay for your utilities and food by yourself. In the long run, you will be much further ahead.
Your Own Place
Even though a dorm room might be convenient, it is still not a place of your own. You are crammed into a small space with someone you’ve never met. It is impossible to get any real privacy. However, when you rent an apartment, the place is all yours unless you decide to get a roommate. The privacy and roominess you will enjoy makes living in apartments near WWU worthwhile.
