What Sort Of Leader Are You?

There are millions of organisations working in this world and every organisation has different levels of management. Each management level consists of different formal and informal groups, and each of these groups requires a leader to represent, guide, motivate, and communicate at every step.   • An autocratic leader exercises complete control over his subordinates.

  • He does not delegate authority and gives order and expects the subordinate to follow them unquestioningly. He follows the method of reward and penalty to direct the subordinates.

  • This style is also known as Leader-Centred Style.

  1. Democratic Leadership Style:

  • In this style, the leader takes decisions in consultation and participation with employees.

  • He delegates and decentralises the authority and follows the opinion of the majority.

  • He provides freedom of thinking and expression and also listens to the suggestions, grievances, and opinion of the subordinates.

  • This style is also known as Group-Centred Leadership Styles.

  1. Laissez Faire Leadership Style:

  • This style involves the complete delegation of authority so that subordinates themselves take a decision.

  • The manager explains the overall objectives, helps the subordinates by providing resources for work performances and advises the employees whenever they need.

  • This other name for this style is Individual-Centred Style.

  1. Bureaucratic Leadership:

  • These are implemented in highly regulative and administrative environment to provide more importance to rules and hierarchy.

  • The leaders are required to ensure that, and everything is carried out according to the pre-defined plans.

  • These styles are beneficial for a specific organisation, however, can hinder the performance of fast-paced companies.
